Jobs with Edlund A/S

Are you keen to work in a highly professional environment with good colleagues, ongoing in-service training and excellent employee conditions? Edlund A/S has openings for system designers with degrees in computer science, actuarial science and mathematics, and for consultants with insurance training and experience in IT systems implementation. Some future graduates are recruited while still studying. There are exceptions to every rule: we also employ people with other educational backgrounds and with outstanding analytical and programming skills.

95% of all our appointments come from unsolicited applications. We currently take on some 25 new people a year.

Applications should be addressed to HR-manager Lene Mertins. All applications will be treated in confidence. lene.mertins@edlund.dk. Phone: +45 36 15 02 50

Actuaries and mathematicians

In our highly professional team of actuaries we can offer a position that places focus on abilities in actuarial mathematics and programming of the mathematical elements in framework systems and customer solutions.

Our development teams for Life.Net® implementations are headed by a mathematician who is in charge of contact with customer actuaries and who ensures actuarial consistency and uniformity in customer solutions.

Tasks performed by our life core group include Life.Net® generalisation and sharing of knowledge to the allied life implementations.

Our actuarial section works, among other things, on generalisation of calculation bases and life and non-life ALM models.

Consultants

Our consultant section works closely with customers on business development, formulation of programming proposals, test samples, test cases, test planning and data conversion. Section staff possess knowledge acquired through insurance employment combined with training, or actuarial training with experience from implementation of IT solutions.

Computer scientists, information technology engineers and IT graduates

We can offer you a challenging job with emphasis on programming skills in teams of highly qualified colleagues. A sound basis in computer science is essential for good, tenable solutions. Your work will span systems architecture, choice of technical design, database design, programming of code generators, profiling, optimising, adoption of new technologies, knowledge sharing on technical matters, and naturally plenty of programming.

Our core groups work on joint solutions for technical and business aspects of customer systems. These solutions must in all cases be effective, general and scientifically sound. They must meet current customer needs, and they must be maintained so that future needs can also be met. The time invested in developing simple and scientifically sound solutions is worthwhile, because such solutions last longer and are easier to program.

All our development teams for Life.Net® and NonLife.Net® implementations are headed by a technical manager responsible for ensuring that solutions are characterised by high technical quality, efficiency and stability. This is achieved through choice of good design, development of appropriate unit tests, and ongoing testing of solution efficiency and stability.

Other skills

The three specialist fields mentioned above (computer science, actuarial science and mathematics) represent our company’s standard profiles. However, we also recruit people with degrees in other areas of science and engineering or medium-length IT training. And although you may not become a systems architect you will have the opportunity to work independently. People who can only create a well-functioning programme based on a complete specification will therefore not be considered.

Cooperation with educational institutions

We have established cooperation with the IT University of Copenhagen, and projects undertaken to date include LINQ – an exciting new query technology in .Net 3.5.
